Children of the Fifth World – Book Review Can this Really be Possible?

Children of the Fifth World by P.M.H. Atwater, L.H.D.Children of the Fifth World

This book I could not put down once I started reading it.  The Author has a great way of explaining everything so easily but not only that it was as though I could have written it.  It was everything I was thinking and doing and researching.  It is truly an inspiration and very insightful and in some cases scary.

The Author

The Author is a distinguished international authority on near-death states, PMH Atwater is the author of 10 books, her writings have also appeared in numerous magazines and newspapers.

She has lectured twice at the United Nations and guested on tv and radio talk shows such as Sally Jessy Raphael, Larry King Live, Entertainment Tonight, Regis & Kathy Lee, Geraldo, and The Shirley Show in Canada.

She was awarded the “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the National Association of Transpersonal Hypnotherapists and the “Outstanding Service Award” from IANDS (where she has also been a 2 term board member).

She is the Author of 15 Books and lives in Charlottesville, Virginia, USA.

New Children

The 2nd chapter in the book covers the New Children and what they are about and I found this to be fascinating and so true.  If you are around children you know how much more intelligent they are and how adaptable they are.  She covers the basic profile on the plus side as follows:

  • Intelligent (even if flunking in school and can’t spell)
  • About one-third are geniuses, even if “learning disabled”
  • Music Oriented
  • Clever Innovators and inventors
  • Excellent with Math
  • Visionary problems solvers, knowing
  • Volunteer minded, humanitarians.
  • Groupies who move as if part of a collective.

She also covers the negative side in the book but what I find fascinating is she mentions that the New Kids are not New they have always been around.  They are just more abundant now.

Generational Signatures

This I found remarkable as my experience in my practice definitely reflected exactly what the Author was saying through her research.

Generational Factors

One of the best things for me was what Miss Atwater said about parenting and how as parents we are actually learning things about ourselves whilst we bring up  the Millenials and the 9/11 generations.

This book is full of links to all the research the Author has done which is very extensive all of which back up her explanation of what she writes about.

The past 30 years have seen a quantum leap in the intuitive, creative and abstract thinking abilities of children.   You will also notice there has been an increase in  ADHD, Dyslexia and Autism Spectrum Disorders.  All of which should not be ignored but embraced.

Intended Audience

I would say anyone that is interested in finding out more about how the kids of to-day function but especially parents and teachers should read this book.  People with an open mind and willingness to really understand the human race.

In Conclusion

This is a must read and when you compare current events and what is happening with the New Children of today it really makes a lot of sense. The book and the Author have some great reviews on Amazon where you can find all of her books.

  1. Really interesting and I’ve already added it to my Amazon wish list! I am a teacher and work with some amazing children everyday. It’s often the ones who don’t quite fit into main stream education who are the real geniuses and give me hope for the future. I think the current ‘revolution’ is all about raising consciousness across all members of society. I see more and more signs that it is beginning to happen too. Looking forward to reading the book.

    Thanks

    • So I am sure you are aware of how intelligent, insightful and knowing some of the kids are today. I know the kids who are my clients are amazing and I can learn so much from them too.

  2. I guess I’m out of the loops.. what are New Kids? Are they just the kids of the newest generation? I have a two year old. I don’t think she’s much different than how I was when growing up except that now she has access to more innovative technology. Still on the fence about how useful that is though. hmmm.. maybe I should read this book…

    • Children are more insightful these days and because of the internet and the fact that they are technical savvy at a very early age gives them access to a greater world we never had. However we are talking about their intuition and their natural ability to see things differently.

    • You will not regret it. It is very interesting and children of today are so much different and we need to know that so perhaps we can change the world as we know it.

  3. Seems like a good read. Have got to agree that the new age children are very different from our generation. We need special skills to understand them and to raise them

    • They make us realize that we need to look at ourselves, we cannot bring them up the way we were brought up. The World is changing and we need to change with it.

  4. I have been learning about NDE this month. I would like read this book and would love to know more about NDE from this book. I have group of friends where we discuss certain topics and gain information on it. I will be sharing this post with my friends. Thanks for sharing!

    • Very much so, I am all for books that can help teachers and parents, I would love to see more of them in the schools and part of the studies.
