This book I could not put down once I started reading it. The Author has a great way of explaining everything so easily but not only that it was as though I could have written it. It was everything I was thinking and doing and researching. It is truly an inspiration and very insightful and in some cases scary.
The Author is a distinguished international authority on near-death states, PMH Atwater is the author of 10 books, her writings have also appeared in numerous magazines and newspapers.
She has lectured twice at the United Nations and guested on tv and radio talk shows such as Sally Jessy Raphael, Larry King Live, Entertainment Tonight, Regis & Kathy Lee, Geraldo, and The Shirley Show in Canada.
She was awarded the “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the National Association of Transpersonal Hypnotherapists and the “Outstanding Service Award” from IANDS (where she has also been a 2 term board member).
She is the Author of 15 Books and lives in Charlottesville, Virginia, USA.
The 2nd chapter in the book covers the New Children and what they are about and I found this to be fascinating and so true. If you are around children you know how much more intelligent they are and how adaptable they are. She covers the basic profile on the plus side as follows:
- Intelligent (even if flunking in school and can’t spell)
- About one-third are geniuses, even if “learning disabled”
- Music Oriented
- Clever Innovators and inventors
- Excellent with Math
- Visionary problems solvers, knowing
- Volunteer minded, humanitarians.
- Groupies who move as if part of a collective.
She also covers the negative side in the book but what I find fascinating is she mentions that the New Kids are not New they have always been around. They are just more abundant now.
This I found remarkable as my experience in my practice definitely reflected exactly what the Author was saying through her research.
One of the best things for me was what Miss Atwater said about parenting and how as parents we are actually learning things about ourselves whilst we bring up the Millenials and the 9/11 generations.
This book is full of links to all the research the Author has done which is very extensive all of which back up her explanation of what she writes about.
The past 30 years have seen a quantum leap in the intuitive, creative and abstract thinking abilities of children. You will also notice there has been an increase in ADHD, Dyslexia and Autism Spectrum Disorders. All of which should not be ignored but embraced.
I would say anyone that is interested in finding out more about how the kids of to-day function but especially parents and teachers should read this book. People with an open mind and willingness to really understand the human race.
This is a must read and when you compare current events and what is happening with the New Children of today it really makes a lot of sense. The book and the Author have some great reviews on Amazon where you can find all of her books.
