My mom and dad always took these vitamins. When I was younger, I didn’t see the point of it but now that I’m 30, it’s definitely something I think about often!

Wow! So many benefits of Omega 3 Fish Oil! We love salmon and nuts, but because of their relatively high cost (compared to other foods and snacks) we don’t eat them as much as we’d like. Maybe it’s time I consider a supplement. I love all the benefits I could be getting.

That is the reason a lot of us take the supplement, also the amount of food you would have to eat to get your daily recommendations would be far too much for the human body to consume.

I had no idea about the DHA and EPA optimum content for Omega-3! After reading this and before commenting I ran to the kitchen to check my own Omega-3 brand and was happy to see that it met all the standards you mentioned, but the one before that I think did not! So glad I know this now as I take them daily! Thank you!

This is an amazing article, so informative. I use Omega-3 fish oil as i recognize the health benefits that it has in reducing cholesterol levels and such. What i didn’t know though was that it can be contaminated and i need to beware of where the fish oil is coming from and how it was purified. I take omega-3 to be healthy and if it is contaminated it will only make me sick. Thanks for this eye opener.

Great post Helen. Thanks for this very valuable information. I am really happy that it is much easier to get chia seeds these days as they are versatile and as you say a good source of omega 3.

I have often heard about the benefits of fish oil but mum says that we can’t afford to buy fish all the time. I wonder how much these supplements are in New Zealand. It would be fantastic to be able to take these! They sound wonderful and if we can’t afford fish, maybe we can get the supplements!

Omega 3 and Omega 6 are good for work outs as they protect your muscles and any tears you may incur during your training. Take it before training.
